Shoulda, woulda, coulda T-27 days

I really should be knitting but I am cold and tired and just ready for bed. I have been slowly working on my sugar maple socks. Done two at a time on my 40" 2.5mm options. Monday is the normal knitting night but as tomorrow is the big monthly knit group we have decided to forgo the bar tonight. But on the plus side; I have started to log my stash on ravelry. Another long term project is to get it all photographed and logged. The new yarn is just begging to be knit up and I found the perfect project for some of it. Maybe the new yarn that should be arriving in the mail any day will have the same effect and I will be able to finish J's dress.

That bad four letter word T-30 days again

S A L E. Here I've talking about destashing and trying to use up whatever I can as I have run out of room in my bins. So what happens when someone mentions on ravelry that a local store has bernat satin on for buy one get one free. My favorite acrylic on for basically half price.

So 10 skeins came home with me. Along with another 1lb ball of cotton. But there is big plans for that very large ball of cotton. Hubby has asked me to do a stash bathmatt for his mother for christmas. Since I use 2 strand of cotton I like to use the big ball for keep one colour constant throughout the matt and that also reduces the number of ends that I have to weave in. I am thinking that this will make a good work project as it is straight garter stitch.

Hit List - T-30 days

I have several skeins in my stash that I have picked over the years and need to use for something. Since part of this project is to use up some stash yarns. I have started a hit list. Starting with about 12 skeins (there may actually be more) of patons pearl twist in pink (9 skeins) and white (3 skeins). Also part of a 1lb cone of Lily's cream and sugar cotton. I have probably done 10 dishcloths already out of the cone and there is still quite a bit left.

My Sugar maple socks are very slowing coming along. I am finding that they are a little to finicky for work knitting but so far I have held out on starting a new project.

Itchy Fingers T-33 days

With J's dress sitting in wait until the new yarn arrives. The socks have gotten a little bit more done on them. But they are just not working for me lately. I look at new patterns and want to get something new started. I have been trying really hard not to start a new project as I do have several on the do. I have a baby Yoda jacket that just needs to be seamed. Also a baby blanket that I have been working on for over 2 years and a pair of mittens that I am just about to start the thumb.

I did pull out that baby blanket and put about 5 rows on it last night. Its a cool rainy - gray day so the kids and I are staying put and hopefully I will get some things done while the little one naps.

Hiatus T-35 days

I was able to do some knitting at work between yesterday and today. Yesterday I finished the skirt part of J's dress. And worked on socks today. The dress is on hiatus until I order some more yarn as I have very little left and lots of knitting still to do. With the new yarn I think I am going to change it from an empire waist to a more natural one.

Trying - T-38 days i think

It has been a trying couple of days. Between crazy kids and trying to fix a couple of mistakes it was a very long day. I realized that I had messed up an increase which was quite noticeable. Weird for me I'm not one to go back a correctly unless its really bad. It was about 7 rows down and when you are dealing with over 200 stitches per row I was not ripping those rows out. Also I was 13 inches in on a 14 inch section. So I tinked about 9 or 10 stitches for those 7 rows and knit them back up and then realized I had a twisted stitch so back down I when and finally got it fixed. Knitted along and then had to many stitches in another section. so down I when again and finally got that fixed. It would be so bad but this project is rather interesting but I am about to run out of yarn. I have almost finished the skirt and done both sleeves and have less than half a skein left to do the bodice, neck and bottom bands. It would be so bad if I hadn't gotten the kit almost 2 years ago. If I had knitted it up when I received it it would have been fine as I would have be doing the size 2 instead of the size 4. so I'm going to order another skein in the same colour and just do the skirt and sleeves in one dye lot and the bodice in the other.

I'm to tired to go looking for pictures tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

I did pick up another ball of cotton; like I really needed another but I do find that some colours are harder to kind than others. so when I saw a lovely bright red solid it quickly when into the cart. Also like that is double the size of most of the cotton skeins that I have.

Happy Knitting

As you can see I had "help".

Rules T- 40ish days

I love the idea of the 101 things to do in 1001 days. What a motivating project. Why not use it was a way to discover new patterns and keep track of my knitting projects.

Start date is easy. since I do need to start some Christmas projects but want to finish up some WIP's right now. November 15, 2009 sounds good. Its a Sunday; always a good day to start a long term project. My birthday, I will be 32 that day. that puts me at an end date of August 21 2012. I think. Can I do think while raising 2 kids and working full time. well I certainly am going to try.

Rules: 1. Only projects started after the start date count
2. One project per pattern
3. All projects must be complete to be added to the list. All seams done and end weaved in.

I will add more as I think of them. Projects can be a small as a dishcloth or a big as an afghan. I am hopping to use up a lot of stash. I don't have a huge amount but it does full 2 large plastic totes. Without a whole lot of storage in this house it would be nice to get it into only one. The batteries are charging for the camera so I will try to get some pictures soon.
